State tax credit details

In Missouri, you can redirect any amount to receive a 100% state tax credit, up to a maximum of 50% of your total state tax liability (Document 2 = State Rankings). Please note that Missouri appears to require donors to have a physical presence in the state to participate (Document 2 = State Rankings).

Applicable federal rules

Starting in 2027, the Section 25F program will provide a federal tax credit of up to $1,700 (Document 1 = Preview). Because of a federal anti-abuse rule, the federal tax credit is reduced by any state tax credit claimed for that exact same redirect, meaning if your state tax credit equals or exceeds $1,700, no federal tax credit will apply.
