1. Overview

CEN SGO (“we”, “us”) is a 501(c)(3) operating network for Christian and Catholic Scholarship Granting Organizations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use censgo.org, the SGO Tool at app.censgo.org, and our related services.

This policy is designed to align with GDPR, CCPA, and FERPA where applicable. By using our services you agree to the terms described below.

2. Information we collect

Account data: name, email, password (hashed), role, organization. Donation data: amount, payment method (tokenized via Stripe), tax information necessary for receipts and credit filings. School and student data: enrollment, eligibility, FERPA-protected academic records when relevant.

Behavioral data: pages visited, features used, IP, device, browser. We use this to operate the product, improve it, and prevent abuse.

3. How we use information

To operate the SGO program (process donations, award scholarships, generate receipts, report to states and donors). To communicate (transactional emails, optional newsletters). To meet legal and audit requirements. To improve the product. We never sell your data.

4. Sharing & disclosure

We share data with: payment processors (Stripe), email providers (Postmark / SendGrid), CRM (HubSpot), state regulators as required for SGO compliance, and auditors under NDA. We do not sell personal data.

5. Your rights

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your data via privacy@censgo.org. EU residents have additional rights under GDPR; California residents under CCPA. Student data is subject to FERPA protections — parents and eligible students have rights of access and amendment.

6. Security

We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict access by role, run regular audits, and pursue SOC 2 attestation. No system is perfectly secure; we notify affected users without undue delay if a breach occurs.
