Privacy Policy

CEN SGO (“we”, “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating scholarship granting organizations for Christian schools. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information when you use censgo.org, the SGO Tool at app.censgo.org, and our related services.

This policy is designed to align with GDPR, CCPA and FERPA where applicable. By using our services you agree to the terms described below.

Account data: name, email, password (hashed), role, organization.

Donation data: amount, payment method, tax information necessary for receipts and credit filings. Card payments are processed by Finix, which tokenizes card details, so we never store full card numbers.

School and student data: enrollment, eligibility, FERPA-protected academic records when relevant.

Behavioral data: pages visited, features used, IP, device, browser. We use this to operate the product, improve it and prevent abuse, and, unless you opt out, to measure our advertising.

censgo.org uses essential browser storage to run the site, such as remembering your privacy choices. These are always on.

censgo.org also uses analytics and advertising tools. Google Analytics and Metricool record the pages you visit, the site that referred you, your screen size, browser and device, and your IP address, so we can see which pages help. Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel tell us when a visit came from one of our ads, and may let us show our ads to past visitors. Google Tag Manager loads them and passes your choices on to them.

Analytics and advertising are on unless you turn them off. To change either, use “Your privacy choices” at the bottom of any page. Turning off advertising opts you out of targeted advertising, which some state privacy laws also call “sharing” personal data. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as that opt-out automatically.

To operate the SGO program (process donations, award scholarships, generate receipts, report to states and donors). To communicate (transactional emails, optional newsletters). To meet legal and audit requirements. To improve the product. We never sell your data.

Newsletter subscribers: We collect email addresses to send program updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

We share data with our payment processor (Finix), our email provider (Mailgun), analytics and advertising providers (Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta and Metricool, unless you opt out), state regulators as required for SGO compliance, and auditors under NDA. We do not sell personal data. Our CRM is our own system, not a third-party service.

You may request access, correction, export or deletion of your data via info@censgo.org. EU residents have additional rights under GDPR, and California residents under CCPA. Student data is subject to FERPA protections. Parents and eligible students have rights of access and amendment.

Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting info@censgo.org.

We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict access by role, run regular audits, and pursue SOC 2 attestation. No system is perfectly secure. We notify affected users without undue delay if a breach occurs.
