How Families Step In

Three Steps. No Tax Expertise Required.

01

Find a school

Find a participating Christian school in your state through the school directory.

02

Apply

Apply for admission and a scholarship through the school. The school works with CEN on the scholarship side.

03

See reduced tuition

If awarded, CEN disburses the scholarship directly to the school. Your family sees the reduced tuition.

K-12 BOUNDARY

A Scholarship for the K-12 Years.

"The greatest discipleship opportunity in a generation."

The Federal School Choice Tax Credit covers K-12 education. It doesn’t extend to pre-school or higher education. Families with younger children or college-bound students can find federal support for those years through other programs.

For the K-12 years, this is the program. Christian schools across the country are joining the network each cycle.

"I'm a senior now. My parents told me last year we couldn't afford this school anymore — and then the scholarship came. I get to graduate where my friends and my faith are. That's not a small thing to a 17-year-old."

Is there an income requirement for the federal scholarship?

Any student whose family income is 300% or less than their Area Median Income, as defined by the federal government, is eligible for a scholarship.

Yes, in most cases. State programs and the Federal School Choice Tax Credit stack. The federal credit is for a charitable gift to a Scholarship Granting Organization, separate from the state mechanism. Both can apply to the same family.
