Today the Christian Education Network launches “Stop Settling, Expect More,” a national campaign to introduce families to CEN SGO and the Education Freedom Tax Credit. The commercial begins airing nationwide on October 1 and runs through the end of the year. Center for Christian Virtue, which founded CEN, announced the campaign this morning. What the campaign says

The message is simple. Families have been told to settle for schools that are failing them. From January 1, 2027, they won't have to. Donors can send up to $1,700 of the federal income tax they already owe to CEN SGO and get it back as a dollar-for-dollar credit. CEN turns those donations into scholarships at Christian schools. America's public education system is morally and academically failing our children. Enough is enough. Thanks to President Trump's Education Freedom Tax Credit, families across America will be able to escape indoctrination and access a high-quality Christian education.Aaron Baer, president of CCV and founder of CEN

What it means for donors

The credit is federal, so you can donate from any state and claim it on your federal return. Where the scholarship goes is what matters: a donation earns the credit only when CEN uses it for students in a state that has listed CEN SGO. Donations count from January 1, 2027. A pledge now holds your place; the donation in January earns the credit. (Source: §25F(a), (c)(3))

Christian schools across America have been a lifeline to families. This tax credit can open the doors to thousands of children and give more families access to an education rooted in faith, character and academic excellence.Troy McIntosh, executive director of CEN

What it means for families and schools

If your state is on the IRS list and your child's school partners with CEN, your family can apply once the program starts and your school's window opens. Schools in states that haven't joined can still get ready, since a state can opt in for a later year.

Seven new state affiliates

The campaign builds on CEN's partnerships with organizations in seven more states, each launching a state affiliate to advocate for Christian education and help students, donors and schools use the credit: the Pennsylvania Christian Education Network (Pennsylvania Family Institute), the Virginia Christian Education Network (Virginia Family Foundation), the Indiana Christian Education Network (Indiana Family Institute), the Georgia Christian Education Network (Frontline Policy Council), the Massachusetts Education Network (Massachusetts Family Institute), the Alaska Christian Education Network (The Alaska Family Council) and the Kentucky Christian Education Network (The Kentucky Family Foundation).

CEN SGO builds on the network's experience serving thousands of families and more than 100 Christian schools in eight states.

What this means for you

If you're a donor, pledge now and donate from January 1, 2027 to claim the credit. If you're a family, check that your state has opted in and that your school partners with CEN. If you run a school, register so your families can apply when the window opens.
